1. Doubt and fear. Usually it’s something bigger than you, something you don’t have the money for, you can’t afford or can’t do on your own without God so it will scare the highlights out of you! You will go through phases of weariness, doubt, feeling inadequate and want to quit.
2. Options. Other options, with less value, easier to manage, often shiner & prettier on the outside, traps, camouflages and counterfeits will appear! And even things that look godly but God’s not in it.
3. Opposition. Distractions, storms, trials, tragedies in your family, loss of work or contracts, you lose your house, lights get shut off, your car breaks down, breakups, separations, you get accused of something you didn’t do, you look completely guilty, like you did it!
4. Naysayers. Some of our closest friends look at you like you’re crazy for stepping out on what God has said, people who you thought had your back expose themselves as frenemies, gossipers, backbiters, opponents who tell you can’t do it, and family members who remind who you used to be, and then the big one: what many call Haters but are actually elevators that cause you to push even further!
5. The Promise of God. When you know that 1-4 is going to happen, you can recognize it and not allow it to prevent you from getting to #5. Everything I just said in 1-4 will not matter because all the hell you’ll go through will end up being worth it and will look like a playground after you’ve passed the test and prove that you’re an overcomer, and that it couldn’t take you out! It will end up being a University where you learn yourself and who God really is, it will become your Hall of Faith where you can believe God for anything now, A Banquet Table where you’ll feast before your enemies and sip from the overflowing saucer because your cup runneth over, the place of “Double For Your Trouble” where you’ll have quadruple times more than what you had before God even spoke! And best of all, it’ll become a ground for worship after God delivers on His promise on the very ground where you won the battle to get it! So whatever you do, don’t give up on what God said!
