Many of us dispose of a great day or let it go straight down the drain just because it’s raining. Rain is nothing but Liquid Sunshine! Here are 5 things you can do to take a rainy day and make your own sunshine!
1. Karaoke!
Instead of singing, “Rain, rain, go away, come back another day,” grab a microphone and a few broken lyrics and you’ve just turned a rainy day into a thunderous afternoon! Yeah, with your singing it may be thunderous, but who cares! Chase those clouds away by grabbing a few friends and sing to the beat of the rain!
2. Indoor Picnic!
In the words of Yogi Bear, “Hey, boo, boo, how’s about a picnic!” Instead of the kitchen table, add a ray of sunshine by grabbing a blanket and your favorite food and then take it to the living room. You can even do it Chinese style and order take out, grab some chopsticks and have an Oriental picnic on the floor!
3. Water Fight!
That’s right, live a little! You won’t melt! Besides, what better time to have a water fight than in the rain?! Look at it this way, you can save your own H20 and conserve on the water bill and use FREE RAIN!
4. Take a Day Trip To Hollywood!
There’s nothing like a rainy day where you can grab a nice blanket, goodies, junk food, and 3 or 4 movies! Yep, make it a movie marathon day and sit back and bum around all day in your PJ’s with some big comfy socks on and watch several movies! The melodic beat of the rain and the movie will have you knocked out sleep like a baby in no time!
5. Beyond Doodling!
Time to pull out the postcards and stationery. We’ve gotten so accustomed to text messaging and emailing that long gone are the days where you send a card or a letter in the mail. Write a few of your friends or loved ones and remind them of the fun times you’ve had with them or how much you miss them since you’ve moved out of state or gotten crazy busy with your work schedule. That unsuspecting loved one will have a smile on their face when they go to the mailbox to get those pile of bills and see a purple envelope from you! This rainy day also serves as a great time to write in your journal or start the first chapter in that book you’ve always wanted to write.
